: Man, I've ALWAYS thought that. TSW starts out so well; you think, Geez,
: Kate's really grown up a lot since the last album, then it's all
: downhill from there. Personally I'm always really embarrassed for her
: when I hear "Deeper Understanding." If she's really THAT clueless about
: computers, she shouldn't be writing about them. TSW is in my opinion
: easily the worst Kate album.

I would also have to agree. It opens very well, "The Fog" I never could
get into (one of Kate's overly-contrived ballads) but "Love and Anger" picks
up the pace and puts the album back on track. Then it's hit or miss with
too many misses to make this a good album. While we have one of Kate's
greatest songs in "This Woman's Work" there's also one I consider her worst -
"Between a Man and a Woman" (what was she thinking). "Heads" does seem silly
but I can understand "Deeper Understanding" even though it is a little weak.
"Never Be Mine" is a throwaway too which when back to back with "Between a
Man and Woman" almost has me hitting the skip button on the CD player. I'm
happy that one can program songs out with CD technology.

I think you could make one great album from the songs off TSW and TRS.
Instead both are deminished by the lesser tracks. I must admit my
excitement for Kate has wained since TSW. It will take a return to form
for me to get every CD single she puts out in the future. They were
notably weak for the TRS singles.

All this is IMHO of course.
