It was my dad's 50th birthday at the weekend there, and I was talking to
a friend of his who went to school with Davey Spillane. Anyway, here's a
useless fact for you...

His name is pronounced Spillane, ignoring the `e' and emphasising the `a,'
as in Milan. Not Spillane, as in plane; or even Spillane, as in spy-plane
(thought I'd through that one in for our US-deep-south readers ;-]). Maybe
you all knew this already but it was news to me.
