The extent of the MIME encoding used in the Love-Hounds digest is this: each digest is tagged with a MIME header that says "this single big message is actually composed of many smaller messages, each of which is separated by a row of dashes." This is enough information for a suitable MIME-capable mail reader to be able to autmomatically break the digest down into its constituent messages. However, since the digest really is just a series of small messages separated by rows of dashes, any non-MIME mail reader can treat the digest as a standard text message and it will be readable. However: any given message sent to the list may itself be encoded in a MIME format by the sender's mail software. Such messages are sent to Love-Hounds as-is, and will be added to the current digest in the same format.
