I too think that night-scented stock is a flower. There are a number of flowers that only give scent at night because they are pollinated by various species of night-flying creatures such as moths and bats. If you ever see a bat hovering to stick it's whole head into a cactus flower after nectar you will be left with a vivid memory. Then they have this nice little collar of pollen afterwards, like ladies with lace collars in old paintings. Karen
