I just saw a great female vocalist type play at the uni last night. The performance was just her whacking away with tremendous energy (and tenderness, sometimes) at her guitar, with her drummer Andy, who would pipe up with the occasional background vocal, and would alternate betwixt some tablas and a traditional drum kit. She was *good*. She was a sort of mix of angry-young-woman/sensitive-self-insightful-ayw/just-plain-woman. Her voice reminded me a little bit of the person who does "Sensitive New-Age Guys" in it's sardonicness, but with a much greater bouncy little girl feeling...and on speed. Hum; I don't know how good a job I'm doing of describing her; she was super-energy-woman. Fiesty. ______________________________________________________________________________ |cerebus@ebhon.jnst.uor.edu|"Perhaps *two* sacks of gold?" -- C. the Aardvark|
