ani is very big around here (east lansing michigan/msu) especially with the
queers. she is sort of an angry young bisexual poet-wtih-guitar, and her sixth
album is just out. my ex roommate, the one who was driven insane when i got
this womans work boxed set on cd and decided kate is the antichrist, loves ani
and has seen her twice in concert in the past year or so.

it is weird cuz she has had big college success and big success in canada and
now she appears to be for the first time going for big media exposure. i have
seen articles on her in billboard and andy warhol's interview in the past few
weeks. she is popping up everywhere, which is strange cuz everything i have
heard about her is that she is quite anti establishment and has turned down
major label deals and does not want to be the next tracy chapman/suzanne vega.
but all this media exposure seems to indicate that is changing . . . .

i recommend her stuff in general, even tho i have not heard all of it and dont
know any of it thoroughly. i just know it from the kate vs. ani wars of last
year, and it usually was ok with me when celia (the roomie) banned kate cuz
anis stuff was pretty cool . . .. .
