REGARDING KBOO, Kate, and Bolero people: Portland, Oregon LoveHounders might be interested in checking out KBOO (90.7 on your FM dial) Friday mornings betwixt 8 am (perhaps sooner) and 9 am. Somone's running a show featuring exclusively women musical artists and hasn't yet failed to play Kate (tho' I only discovered it a few weeks back so have a very small sample size). The rest of the content is quite outstanding anyway so who cares if Kate doesn't appear for a few weeks or so (gosh, did I actually write that?). Maybe all Friday is women's day on KBOO. At least it was today. In the afternoon they played the new Four Bitchin' Babes CD. This is probably not a LoveHounders usual fair but you all might give them a listen. A fine mixture of humourous and beautiful folk. If you like Christine Lavine (the groups nominal organizer) you will certainly like the other 3 (names learned last summer and quickly forgotten but they tend to change anyway). Who says there are no words to Bolero? There are some fine words provided by one Albert Brooks on an old album (another name forgotten) on which he provided a song for every type of radio station in the country. A get rich scheme that didn't make it. Anyway the words are marvelous but will forever destroy any appreciation you may have had of the tune in it's original musical state. Seek at your own risk. After all these years I've finally read Love Hounds to the music of Kate Bush. An experience not to be passed by lightly... where angels fear to tread, to'c -- "A typical long haired half mad computer programmer on a typical computer keyboard with odd toys scattered liberally about."
