eric.walker@channel1.com (Eric Walker) sez: > I've always felt that the gay/straight/Kate connection is completely > obvious. My argument is as follows: > {logic del'd} > This may be a little idealistic, but it should get the point across. a little? anybody who thinks that rec.music.gaffa/love-hounds is a place of "tol- erance, acceptance and recognition" must have missed out on the glory days of love hounds's flamewars. personally, i think that any relationship between orientation and KaTe fandom is statistical fallout - the number of KaTefans is probably a sufficiently large enough population to be representative of the people in the world. i do think that there is something to the notion that KaTefans might be less inclined to care about orientation. this could explain why some people perceive there to be more bilaga fans than not, but i find it a bit silly to go as far as to say that KaTefans are people of "goodness, purity and righteousness," as eric so sweetly put it, and thus more open to "alternative lifestyles." woj
