In reply to Larry Palena, I know the origin of the name Pere Ubu (I like their music a lot): it comes from an avant-garde French play called Ubu Roi (which means King Ubu). I've forgotten the author; I know it's a very weird play, and there are references to it in Brian Eno's music. Pere Ubu (Father Ubu) is one of the characters. Naomi Diesendruck
