I know there is a classical song by Franz Schubert "Was Ist Sylvia?" that, when
 translated to English, goes, "Who is Sylvia?  What is she, that all our swains
 commend her?"  I know this because I actually sang this song in the Illinois
 State Solo and Chroal Ratings in high school.
