Right.  Carl was about to get the big break when a 
car accident put him on ice for too long.  Elvis 
sailed past.  Elvis's sound was cloned, but it was 
still the basic Memphis sound and several players 
already played and sang like that.  The most imitated 
guitar players of that period for Southern guitar players 
are Chet Atkins and BB King.
