I was doing a paper on Bob Dylan. My good fortune was that Mary Travers (of Peter, Paul & Mary and who had a radio interview show at the time) was doing an interview of Dylan. I remember being distinctly disappointed with Dylan's responsiveness to questions. Much later I realized that this was quite unfair. We unrealistically expect that because one is talented in one field that they will be equally talented in all endeavors. We shouldn't expect brilliant right handed pitchers to be concert pianists also. Likewise in Kate's case: she is a brilliant songwriter, singer and performer. All of these are "rehearsed" skills. Isn't it a bit unrealistic to also expect a brilliant raconteaur, philosopher, chef, car mechanic, brain surgeon, human being, diplomat, computer programmer, etc. And more unrealistic is to be disappointed when we discover she isn't all of the above. Enjoy and appreciate what she does brilliantly. Let her be less than brilliant at the rest. -- Alan Chamberlin ---- "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Santayana
