In article <32C3F1B2.57FB@pc.jaring.my>, majdi <majdi@pc.jaring.my> writes >i'm new here ! >but i'm an ardent fan of kt. >been following her since wuthering heights. >btw after red shoes in '93, is there anything else after that? >where i'm at right now the music stores don't quite keep her stuff up to >date. In terms of albums of her own, no, there isn't, so you haven't missed anything vital. But THERE IS a new track done for 'Common Ground - voices of modern Irish music', released May 1996. Compiled and produced by Donal Lunny (a well known folk musician in Ireland). Details: CD = EMI Premier 7243 8 37691 2 4 track = 'Mna Na h-Eireann' Oh yes, she sings it in Irish! (clever girl). I think the score is a traditional Irish melody, except I think I'm correct in that the lyrics are new cos the album is supposed to be about new Irish material. The only quibble I have with the track is that it should at least 2 or 3 times longer than it is (seems to be over rather quick). But then you could program the CD to play it twice. (or over & over ad nausium...) Interesting to note that its coyright is retained by Novercia Ltd (not EMI). The other tracks (one each) are by: Bono & Adam Clayton, Paul Brady, Maire Brennan (of Clannad), Elvis Costello (yes really), Tim & Neil Finn, Andy Irvine, Brian Kennedy, Davy Spillane & Donal Lunny, Christy Moore, Sinead O'Connor, Liam O Maonlai, Sharon Shannon. They're a mix of English & Irish lyrics. Visually the CD can be recognised by a general dark green theme and a circular Celtic decoration motif. The front is mainly white with a thin, wide picture of a wild landscape across the middle. It's likely listed as 'Easy Listening'. -*- While I'm on the subject it might be worth mentioning that 'Christmas Will Be Magic Again' unexpectedly (or so I thought) popped up on the No.1 Chistmas Album double CD (Polygram 525 978-2, 1995). If loads of you knew that already, don't tell me. -- Mike H 3C (UK)
