I'm not sure if there's a direct relation. Kate has said in an interview
that the music was already finished when she looked for a title and found 
the line in Tennyson's poem "The Coming of Arthur".
AFAIK in Celtic mythology, the ninth wave was a boundary, a divide between
homeland and alien worlds.
