My early experience with repeated attempts was with olives. At first I didn't like them, but my brothers really seemed to enjoy 'em, so I retried off and on until my palatte became sophisticated enough to really enjoy the green ones (to hell with the ripe ones though!). Later, if I saw a girl whose looks I wasn't too appreciative of, I would think about those olives......
