I'm re-sending this 'cause I made a boo-boo which Mr. Wisner has pointed out (very nicely, I might add...) ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- To: love-hounds@gryphon.com Subject: re: Any Sarah Brightman Fans? Date: Sun, 16 Jun 1996 22:10:14 -0600 Sometime in the past, Robb wrote: I've been listening to Sarah Brightman's 'Dive' album, which contains a few Bush-like ballads and an overall water concept (sound familiar?). I was wondering if anyone else is into her...and if any of you Brits can provide information on her popularity over there. I don't think she's had a hit in the U.S. -- other than being the original Christine from 'Phantom of the Opera,' that is. Well, Robb, you are correct in that her music is not overly popular in the states... but I'm rather glad of that, albeit selfishly. Many artists change their style to fit a more mass audience (or refuse to continue evolving their personal style may be a better way of phrasing that) when their music becomes 'popular' [**THE PRECEDING STATEMENT WAS MY OPINION**]. I was able to acquire a radio station promo of Sarah Brightman singing "Love Changes Everything" and "Anything But Lonely" which are selections from Andrew Webber's musical 'Aspects of Love'. Quite good. I've only heard a bit of 'Diva' but her disc of 'The Songs That Got Away' I enjoy when I'm in the mood. Sorry to wax rhapsodic... I seem to be a bit type-ative this evening. chris the babbling-like-a-brook one ----------------------- Contact Chris at chris@kiva.com, tchansen@xmission.com or visit his HomePage at http://www.xmission.com/~tchansen
