OTHER EERIE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN KATE AND TORI: Neither of them has ever had a vice president named Johnson. Tori played lounges in her early career; Kate played pubs. Kate was discovered by David Gilmour; Tori has probably slept with David Gilmour. In live performance, Kate screws with your mind. In live performance, Tori screws with her piano bench. (Which lends credence to the theory that Tori actually owes more to Jerry Lee Lewis than Kate Bush for inspiration.) Neither one of them was in Dallas when Kennedy was shot. Tori says Kate Bush is an inspiration. Kate says Tori is "um, interesting." As a good friend of mine once put it, "Tori Amos is Kate Bush with a life."
