You got it just a bit wrong there, the line goes:

  "It's Murph', playing his guitar refrain"

Alan Murpy was Kate's long-time guitar player. He died about the time
of the production of 'Rocket Man' (You can see a guitar with a candle
in the video).
It might interest you (if you don't know already) that all the people
named by Kate in this passage of 'Moments of Pleasure' were friends of
hers she tragically lost throughout the years, including her mother...
