The U.S. has NOT had ICBM's aimed at China for many years. Our war machine
has been tamed (sorry for all the layoffs, folks). THEY have increased
defense spending 150% in recent years. THEY will not back down on their
defensive posturing with Taiwan. Many analysts feel that is where the next
big standoff will be. The #1 wargame scenario for the U.S. right now is a
war in that vicinity. 
 
And as for the wonderful lack of crime in China - Mussolini made the trains
run on time. There are advantages in EVERY dictatorship, eh?
