Ah, here we have a case where the boyfriend doesn't keep an eye on his girlfriend's CD collection :-). I've had this Pooka CD for months. They are fun, and interesting, though the CD doesn't invite me to play it a lot (obviously) and I forget what it sounds like between playings. The closest comparison I can think of is the late, great band from Chapel Hill, blackgirls (they write it lower case), who have two albums themselves, and are much, much better, IMHO. Still, I'll keep an eye on Pooka, because they do have a fun and twisted sense of instrumentation and harmonizing. I wish them well. They have one album, just called _Pooka_ (Elektra 61624 in the US) I couldn't find the women's names anywhere on the album. "All songs written and performed by Pooka" "All instruments played by Pooka" "Pooka would like to thank..." "Produced by Pooka with John Coxson" etc., but no actual names of the two women. I read in another Pooka thread that their names are Sharon & Natasha, but never got an answer as to how the poster got the names. There's an address for more information: Pooka 14 Newbold Terrace Leamington Spa CV32 4BR England POOKA 1) City Sick 2) Bluebell 3) The Car 4) Graham Robert Wood 5) Breeze 6) Nothing In Particular 7) Dream 8) Boomerang 9) Demon 10) Rolling Stone 11) Between My Knees 12) Sleepwalking Vickie (one of Vickie and "how am I supposed to keep track?"
