: Anyway, in the booklet there is a copy of the "The Red
:Shoes" poster on which can be clearly read "directed by Michael Powell
:written by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger". I rest my case.

In Powell's autobiography _A Life In Movies_ he stated clearly that in his
partnership with Emeric Pressburger, The Archers, they wrote together,
with Pressburger doing most of the dialogue. Powell himself was the
director--always. The joint title on some of their films expressed the
fact that they were a team.
Besides, Powell was a director before and after his work with Pressburger;
Pressburger was not.
You was robbed!
I would suggest that anyone even remotely intrigued with the film TRS
check out some of Powell (and Pressburger!)'s other work, notably:
I Know Where I'm Going
A Matter of Life and Death (aka Stairway to Heaven)
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp
Black Narcissus
Visual splendor, brilliant art direction and photography, delirious
romanticism! I bet Kate loves them all!
Best wishes,
Alan
