In article <CpIoCI.Ktr@freenet.carleton.ca>, aj796@freenet.carleton.ca (Tippi Chai) writes: > But who sez that KaTe *wants* to expand her fandom at the expense of > "working the system"? Nobody. The problem arises with the following: > I realize that people only want KaTe to gain world-wide recognition > and appreciation. And then people complain when she doesn't get it. It's important to recognize that a significant part of the reason she doesn't is because she, as you, has set her own limits on what she'll do to gain such commercial success. I don't object to Kate's career decisions: I object to people blaming her record label, radio stations, the music industry in general, etc., for her failure to get such success. Leave it be.
