If "Ran tan Waltz" is a folk tune, then why does Kate hold the copyright
on it and why is she listed as the author?

Any why do you assume that "Babooshka" involves an "aging" wife? Seems
to me it;s about a husband who's lost interest in his wife, age not
being an issue at all,
