dang.  memory plays wishful tricks.  i remembered who told me the
Kate's sister in the airport story, and called her to confirm, and
it was Detroit, not Mnpls.  (Is that a plausible stopover?  I'd also
willingly believe that Kate's face was detected on Mars... ;^)
