I wouldn't call "Black Velvet" an appalling song--although am I correct in
thinking that it's been done long before Alannah Myles covered it? I know
I've heard other versions--but I will agree that it's an appalling song to
skate to (pardon my danglers). Yuck--bad taste, that. Kind of like doing
ballroom dancing to Phil Collins' (ugh) "Another Day In Paradise" (now
*there's* an appalling song!). Don't laugh; my sister and I saw that happen
on TV just the other day.

Oh, and your generalization is not completely valid--I don't skate, nor am I
a fan of any winter sports, being originally from Huntsville. :)
