 Thanks to Hannu Mikkola and Vincent J. Murphy, I now know that the
"Neil" to whom Tori Amos refers in the song _Tear in your hand_ is a
certain Neil Gaiman, author of a comic book known as _Sandman_.

 (If I'm not mistaken, he may also have written _Don't Panic_, which is
something of a Douglas Adams biography/history of the Hitch-Hiker's
Guide to the Galaxy.)

 So I guess she isn't sending out secret messages... darn! :)
