Doctor Zero sez:

> I JUST saw the Cloudbusting video a few days ago (too cool, by
>the way) and I have a couple of probably simple questions.

> After seeing this post (I thought that Orgonon was in Britain
>somewhere) I gather it is in America near Boston. Why is it (and
>Reich) so special? Does the somg have to do with something that
>actually happened in the real world? Was there actually someone that
>built a Cloudbusting machine?

Orgonon is near Rangely, Maine and about a 5-hour drive from Boston. It
is what Wilhelm Reich called his property and is now the location of the
Wilhelm Reich Museum.

The reason it is relevant to this list is because Kate based the song
"Cloudbusting" on a book by Dr. Reich's son, Peter describing his
experiences with Dr. Reich and his experiments during his childhood.

If we are to believe what Dr. Reich and his proponents (and Peter) say,
then the song *is* based on fact. Dr. Reich apparently did build a
cloudbuster and apparently it *did* work. Information on orgonomy can
be found in several books including _A_Book_of_Dreams_ by Peter Reich,
_Me_and_the_Orgone_ by Orson Bean, _Orgone,_Reich,_and_Eros_ by W.
Edward Mann, and _Fury_On_Earth_ by Myron Sharaff.

Ron Hill sez:

> I saw a message from someone about an orgonon trip, though
>they didn't say where it was leaving from.

I posted this information after seeing it on the Pagan digest. The
person to ask for information can be reached at the e-mail address at
the bottom of the announcement. I will repeat it here for your
convenience.

I have never personally been to Orgonon and haven't the opportunity to
go this time. I just saw the announcement and crossed it over to gaffa.
People helping people, ya know.
