Dose no one remember the "Bikini Babooshka"?  Am I _that_ old?  :)
 
I was on vacation in Cape Cod during the summer of 64 or 65 and all
the fashionable ladies on the beaches were wareing these little
hats/scarves to keep there hair in place.  These little things that
came in different colors and were sold as "The Bikini Babooshka".
