Subject: EMI's price policy
To: Kate Bush Digest <love-hounds@eddie.mit.edu>
Howdy everyone! Here in Stuttgart, Germany, there's a large phono shop chain (called LERCHE, who might want to know) and I went there to ask for the BoKsed seT. Was just interested what it would cost. They didn't have it as I expected, but for another reason then I thought. The guy told me, they don't sell any KaTe Bush, because EMI (who distributes her disks here) has increased its prices, which the shop does not want to support. It's not because of doing a favour to the consumer, but because of the shop chains own price policy, being s.th. like: we are the cheapest record store over here, *every* LP is under 16 Deutsch Marks (if EMI asks for too high trader prices we put them off stock). Sorry, if it's not very KT-related, but my question is now: Is EMI following a similar strategy in other countries? Remember the Sex Pistols film 'The Great R&R Swindle'? There 't was EMI at its best ... - Karl DoTzeK. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) : ) : Karl DoTzeK dotzek@ds0lilog.BITNET ) : Institute for Knowledge Based Systems (IKBS) ) : Schloss-Strasse 70 ) : D-7000 Stuttgart 1 xx49-711-6695615 ) : ) : - KommuniKaTion is everyThing / everyThing is KommuniKaTion - ) : ) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) % end of mail
