Blast of Silence, their second full length album with wide distribution, includes Syd Straw, Michael Sweet and T-Bone Burnett on vocals and Fier, Laswell, Peter Blegvad, and others playing and producing. The music is *very* palatable, often C&W colored, and seamlessly crafted by musicians who usually tread much wilder musical climes. IMHO of interest to any R.M.G. posters. Their various singles have included the famous cameos and are, for the most part, included in Thundering Herd with stuff from the full lengthers and other projects which makes for an uneven total CD for those who don't dig the wild noisy stuff but points out the diversity of the players. I'd reccommend Blast of Silence as a next venture--unless you hate C&W sounding music (it's no more twangy than Syd Straw's album). the first album is really quite different. -Arlen P. Speights
