sonny sharrock's dediKaTion

i was poking through some new cds over the weekend and discovered (much
to my amusement) track #5 on the new sonny sharrock band release _high-
life_ to be called "KaTe". holding the cd closer so that i could read the
subtitle in fine print, i beheld this: "variations on a theme by KaTe
bush". well...

indeed it is. sharrock has taken the closing theme to "wuthering heights"
and turned it inside out in his free jazz kind of way. in fact, it's almost
unrecognizable until he gets to the end of the song, at which point all i
could envision was KaTe jumping up and down at the end of the hammersmith
film.

not essential, but interesting..._highlife_ is on enemy records and is
probably available somewhre near you.
