Just a note of clarification; Kemp played the Inn Keeper, and dressed up as Punch. My first exposure to this film was being asked to bring my VCR (rare in those days) to a friends house so that a group of Wiccians could watch it at this party. Strange perspective on it. I was a little miffed at the film's interpetation of Punch as my dad was a Punch & Judy puppeteer, and collected "Punchinalia". To describe Punch as a "classic fool" doesn't do him justice.
