Greetings, As an inveterate backpacker and hiker, I often have a song or two running through my mind while walking through the wilderness, all completely unconscious. The rhythm of walking naturally shakes songs out of the cobwebs of my memory. Unfortunately, KaTe's unconventional and ever shifting rhythms rule out her songs as walking songs. (Note that I am not saying that her songs are not compatible with the outdoors, just for walking. Heck, _The Big Sky_ would be great for the outdoors!). Yet on a mid-July backpack in Grand Teton National Park, one of my least favorite KaTe songs came to mind unexpectedly. We came to a number of spots where the trail was a mass of mud, water, and/or snow. While contemplating how to navigate the mess, the advice of KaTe came to mind. "Hiking advice from KaTe?", I hear you gasp. _Walk Straight Down the Middle_, of course! -- Doug Burks _O_ dbx@olympic.atmos.colostate.edu |< She really is!!
