When did I first hear Kate? Hmmm...I'm not sure...I've narrowed it down to two possibilities: a> I think I saw "Running up that hill" on MTV (the "live" version, not the dance version)...I was fairly impressed (considering at that time I was listening to junk like Duran Duran) b> I think I saw some of "Live at Hammersmith Odeon" on USA network...specifically, I remembered the song "Wow"...how many songs have a chorus of "Wowowowowowowow!" in them? Anyway, I remember my mom bringing me "Keyboard" magazine with Kate on the cover several years ago (she works at the library and gets lots of free stuff)...now, I'm fairly sure that she threw it away (grrrr.) Anyway, I agree with the statement that "Hounds of Love" and "The Ninth Wave" are two different creations...in fact, I think it might've been more logical to release them separately as EP's (however, that probably might not have done as well economically...) Here's my order of favorites: The Ninth Wave, The Dreaming, Hounds of Love, The Kick Inside, and the other three tied for last...of course, they're all brilliant. As for mixing Kate with "The Sky's Gone Out", I think that would be quite an interesting combination...do you think Kate would like "Spirit" ??? enough of my babbling. ######################################################################## # _ _ _ _ _ # # "When routine bites hard /_ | |_ |\ | | \ |_ |_> # # And ambition runs low _/ |_ |_ | \| |_/ |_ | \ # # And resentment rides high _ _ _ # # But emotion won't grow... |_ | | |\ | / | | /_ # # ...then love...love will tear us apart" | |_| | \| \_> |_| _/ # # --- Joy Division # ########################################################################
