In article <9003120822.AA06557@world.std.com> katefans@world.std.COM (Chris'n'Vickie of Kansas City) writes: The Absolute Sound reviewer writes: >At the end of one track there's just Bush >laughing-attached to so much garbage you can hear the sea gulls circling.[4] To which Chris hysterically responds: >[4] Is he kidding? Does he think the gulls were accidental? Are you kidding? Or did you not get it? Sea-gulls circle around over trash. He wasn't talking about the sound effects in "The Fog," you silly, he was talking about the non-musical artifacts produced by Kate's sound processing gear. Well, anyway, you can't argue with his review, because it is laughable in the extreme. Imagine, ignoring "The Fog" and "Rocket's Tail"! But I'm not going to fault him in the sound-reproduction department. Let's face it, it's definitely not going to win any sound-quality or engineering awards. The level of hiss some of the songs exhibit is intrusive sometimes. Particularly Rocket's Tail! Man, you crank that song (the way it NEEDS to be heard to be truly appreciated) and you can hear some severe noise. +---------------------- Is there any ESCAPE from NOISE? ----------------------+ | | |\ | jsd@gaffa.mit.edu | ZIK ZAK - We make everything you need, | | \|on |/rukman | jsd@umass.bitnet | and you need everything we make. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
