Subject: Swedish Nigel Kennedy Radio Programme
Reply-To: abj@IDA.LiU.SE
Hi Love-Hounds, Yesterday I told you about the radio programme about Nigel Kennedy on Swedish radio. We were up and listened to it, hoping there would be a mention of KT. Well, here's the transcript. My comment is within double parenthesis: -------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Artist of the Week: Nigel Kennedy", Swedish Radio P2, 17/2/90, 0515-0530 EST -------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Artist of the Week: violinist Nigel Kennedy, is one of England's most brilliant contemporary musicians, in all categories. He studied at Juliard ((sp?)), and since the debut in 1977 he has played with most of the famous symphony orchestras. But he also belongs to a younger generation musicians who are accept more musical traditions, and Kennedy has, for example, played jazz for many years, and he has also lent his services to Kate Bush's songs. ((Yeah! they mentioned Her!)) Here we are going to hear him in a piece by William Walton. We hear the 1st movement Andante Tranquilis from the Violino Concerto from 1938. The violinist Nigel Kennedy plays here together with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Andre Previn ((sp?))." ((They play the above mentioned piece, and then the programme is over... not even a few notes from _The_Fog_...)) -------------------------------------------------------------------- Nigel Kennedy is in Stockholm, at least tonight, and he will play in the Berwald Hall tonight together with John Lenehan on piano. The concert will be aired on Swedish radio, P2, 1930-2125 EST. Yeah! that's all from Sweden at the moment! /andreas --------------------------------------------------------------------- | Mr. Andreas Bjorklind, Department of Computer and Information | | Technology, Linkoping University, S-581 83 Linkoping, Sweden. | | Tel. +46 13 28 26 79, Internet: abj@ida.liu.se, | | UUCP: sunic!liuida!abj, Bitnet: abj@seliuida | ---------------------------------------------------------------------
