In article <9001212225.AA15096@EDDIE.MIT.EDU> Andrew Marvick (IED) writes: > (Ed Suranyi, ever the observanT reKorder, has noted >that the song has its own Columbia catalogue number now, implying that it >will soon appear in stores as a follow-up single to _Love_and_Anger_) Actually, it probably means that it's in stores already. Billboard is notoriously slow about updating such information. It took them *forever* to change "Love And Anger" from "Col LP cut" to "Col 73092", and the Indigo Girls' first album was certified gold for more than a month before Billboard noted such in their chart. One other note about CBS--don't expect CD singles from them. Rumor has it that CBS would put out CD singles if they could find someone to press 3" CDs for them (and that there are some who would make CD singles for CBS if CBS would stop believing so firmly in the 3" format...) > Still no sign of _Love_and_Anger_ on the Billboard singles chart, >however, nor of _The_Sensual_World_. If you read Billboard regularly, you'll very rarely find crossovers between the "Adult Rock" and "Pop" charts. The "Adult Rock" chart is sampled from college stations and "alternative" stations who try very hard not to play the same music that pop stations play (that's why they're called "alternative" stations).
