Gurdjieff was a Russian (i think) mystical writer earlier this century.
the KaTian reference is to "Them Heavy People" on The Kick Inside...
    "they read me Gurdjieff and Jesu..."

i expect you know which of KaTe's songs has the Bront\"e connection  :-)
