Subject: songs with literary works in them
Here's a bunch of pop songs with literary works in them, just off the top of my head... Martini Ranch's song "Richard Cory" incorporates the poem "Richard Cory" by E.A. Robinson with their own lyrics. Anne Clark's song "This Be The Verse" gets its lyrics from a Philip Larkin poem of the same name. Mike Oldfield has Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span singing the poem "Hiawatha" (author's name temporarily eludes me) somewhere on the album "Incantations." +---------------------- Is there any ESCAPE from NOISE? --------------------+ | | |\ | jsd@gaffa.mit.edu | "A man's home is his coffin." | | \|on |/rukman | jsd@umass.bitnet | - Al Bundy | +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
