Subject: gaffa
Gaffa (or more formally, "gaffa tape") is a wide sticky tape, usually black or green, used by sound and lighting engineers to hold things together - bundles of cable, lighting rigs, amplifiers, buildings etc. It can often be found attached to such equipment, and any rock musician who wants to prove he/she is gigging will generally have a few strips across their amp, drum heads or whatever. Military gun tape is a similar substance. (Anyone spot where this gets used in "Aliens"?) In extreme cases, gaffa may prove to be integral to the fabric of objects. For this reason, it is often compared to The Force - it has a light side, it has a dark side, and it holds the Universe together. Mystery solved? --Rick.
