[I saw "Bob" picking his nose. Honest.] A LOOOONG time ago I posted an article requesting what you thought was the "best record ever made ever." I said that if I got 50 responses, I'd summarize to the net. I got 46. But guilt has been laying heavily on me, and my boss is on vacation, so I thought I'd post anyway. By the way, I didn't even cast my vote. It would've only shown that you are ALL WRONG!! Heh heh heh. First the grand prizes for records receiving more than 1 vote: -------------------------------------------------------------- 4 votes: sgt pepper - the beedles 2 votes: velvet underground and nico - ditto [yay!!] lamb lies down... - genesis white album - bee-bee-heads Runner up prizes for BANDS receiving more than 1 vote: ------------------------------------------------------ Beatles - 4 for sgtpep, 2 for white; [NONE for rubber soul?!?!] Ramones - 1 for mania, 1 for ramones, 1 for surfin bird [surfin bird??] Genesis - 2 for lamb, 1 for foxtrot [note the lack of phil...] Marillion - clutching and misplaced [MARILLION?????] And now the general muck. These are presented in order of arrival; if it's not here, I didn't get it, or it was unacceptable, e.g., you sent a list of best records ever made ever, which clearly is impossible. I don't know if anybody stuffed the ballot box or not, but the preponderance of beatles records is...ponderous. I was also surprised I didn't get more Joy Division...here we go! -------------------------------------------------------------- From: laural@cs.utexas.edu Orchestral Manoevers in the Dark - Orchestral Manoevers in the Dark From: Mike Godfrey <migod@csri.toronto.edu> Richard and Linda Thompson's _Shoot Out the Lights_ (1982).
