Cocteau Twins (Blue Bell Knoll)

not their best album ... 'treasure', 'victorialand', and 'the moon and
the melodies' are much, much better ... elizabeth frazier's lyrics are
mostly just vocalizations, although it's my understanding that there
are a lot of gaelic, and old english words amoung them ... mostly, her
voice is used as an instrument, along with the others, rather than as
a purely singing voice.

and i would never compare cocteau twins to 10000 maniacs, throwing
muses or anyone else ... for one thing, they've been around for
much, much longer. they've been a 4AD mainstay for at least 4-5
years, if not longer.

no, cocteau twins are in a world by themselves ... the only groups
that even come close are dead can dance, xmal deutschland, and
this mortal coil (all are also 4AD bands) ...
