| [ ... ] Michael Stearns | _Chronos_, the soundtrack to the film of the same name, could be | accused of being overbearing, excessively ponderous, and art-cliche'd. | I'll keep it anyway, but Stearns' in-cre-di-bly de-li-be-ra-ted | paaaaace hasn't got the precise tonal artistry to play the Eno game, | and the edgeless sounds he squeezes out of his ancient analog | equipment (no offense intended) just fill me with ennui. I bought _Chronos_ hoping to hear something new and exciting. Boy, was I wrong. This purchase was on a half-dare, so I guess I lose all the way around. I have but one major gripe with _Cronos_ on CD: my copy has ONLY ONE TRACK; mind you it's the full length of the disc, but I hate not being able to go to any one place inparticular within the music in order to listen to specific passages. It's annoying to have seven tracks listed if I can't make use of the !!!! list. [ Are you sure the one big track isn't 'indexed'? CD players, in addition to letting you access things by track, also let you access them by index. Indexes are not used on most CD's, however, and most CD players will not let you program by index. -- |>oug ] Am I the only one with this problem? back to business... \ lethargy at large /> guardian at michael a. gray </ percival | agora | qiclab \
