To answer Madurai's question, IED can give no concrete info as
to whether Kate is acquainted with Indian folk music, but it
is extremely likely that she has listened to a lot of it. She
is introduced to a good deal of ethnic music through recordings
given to her by her brother Paddy, who apparently makes tapes of
folk music from throughout the world. But IED knows of no specific
use of Indian musical motifs or instruments in her work to date. Doug?
