Subject: Add another card to the Flipper board game
Call it "Rock crit rips off the title to your cassette - Lose 1 point." Reading the Billboard blomag _Inside Tracks_ I see that Charles M. Young is finishing _Blowin' Chunks: The Incomplet History of Punk Rock and Other Stuff_ for Doubleday/Dolphin. Not a bad column by the dude - basically a screed on '86 being the year of the dinosaur (again) and cites J.D. Considine for best alb review when he called GTR SHT. I say your whorin is showin and go back to working crossword puzzles. More Flipper: the cut "Southern California" on PFLtd was recorded at Fenders, not the OnClub as the liner notes say. Everybody who wanked on the Jesus and Mary Chain now go genuflect at the alter of Ted Falconi. Subterranean is their record label, but they also do mailorder for some SF indies. Henry Rollins' book _Hallucinations of Grandeur_ is available from Rollins, POB 2461, Redondo Beach CA 90278. It's journal entries from 85-86 covering two Black Flag tours, readings, etc. Not too many masterful insights, but the tour commentary is an entertaining read as Flag shoestrings it while rocking the nation. Quote from Kyle: "Good shows have 16-yearold skinheads jumping off the stage." And you wonder why he didn't like Nyctophobia. It's just your brain constipation, K. -- J.
