Ah, but see, that's just it--if you were busy tracking down the live
ones, like your genes equipped you to do (although not that
much--primates aren't real thoroughgoing carnivores), then you could
probably be in good shape and catch them fairly well. And you could
probably avoid most of the cardiovascular consequences of a diet with a
lot of animal foods. It all fits together. I don't know about you, but I
don't think I could even catch the average *rat*, to save my ass.
Fortunately, I have alternatives--although sad to say, not everyone on
this rock does.
