I remember vividly seeing Kate in her red dress tripping about the moors on Countdown (Australia's Top of the Pops) when it was released in '78 and being immediately struck by her gorgeous voice, the swooping, moody orchestration, the setting of the video. Technology not being too advanced in our house at the time, all I could do to capture the song from the Countdown repeat the following week was pull up our tape recorded to the tv speaker. Only, when I played it back, all we could really hear was a lot of background noise, including our budgie going bananas (he was also a Kate fan). I was 11 at the time. Came over to England the following year and wandered round Haworth in a romantic daze. Too right they should have put Kate's single in the Bronte museum. I wonder what Emily would have thought. Mr Budge (our budgie) eventually found peace at the bottom of his cage but I'm still here to say I'm a fan, always have been and always will. On a slightly different subject, I know Kate recorded a cover of "Sexual Healing" with Davey Spillane but someone (him/Kate/record company) deemed it not appropriate for his album. Does anyone out there have a copy? Ciao Wendy
