One interview I recall, she said the tour was "emotionally" draining.
After seeing the Tour of Life MANY times, I can see the spots where she is
LIVING a song. There are places, like Wuthering Heights, for example,
where she IS Cathy. SHE IS. That is a horrible thing to be night after
night. I don't know how many actors we have here, but you can all back me
up on this. I just finished this really dark rendition of "Endgame" and
it was, "I am the last person on Earth and no one really loved me, much
less liked me" I dreaded going to the theatre for a week of those
performances, much less a month of rehearsals. I would come home in tears
three nights a week. It really doesn't make you happy, unless you are
doing some crappy Neil Simon bit. And Kate's songs are SO heavy. Sure,
you can name a happy Kate tune, but for every one you can name 5 real
downers! Can you imagine LIVING Never Be Mine night after
night....bringing up those emotions over and over again? It's one thing
to want to do it...but when you start feeling like you have to....that is
another question entirely.

Now I will retract everything and extend the invitation to Kate to perform
in Wilmington NC in Thalian Hall and then the next night at my house!!
