Hello love-hounds, First let me start off by saying TSW is not my favorite KT album. It's #4. 1. HoL 2. tD 3. NfE Some of my fav songs on TSW seem to be the least favorites here. For instance "The Fog", Never be Mine", "Straight Down the Middle", and yes "Between a Man & a Woman". The Fog has such a sad dreamy quality and I love the violin solo. Also the use of the word "execute" in "Deeper Understanding" may contain a deeper meaning than just a button on the keyboard. Of course I don't know. This is also not one of my faves, but the feeling of isolation is something we all can relate to now and then, especially as a child. I believe the song is more about loneliness than computers. "Straight Down the Middle" is one of best on the album, IMHO. Love the ending. I think it ends in a Cm7 with Kate's "voices" (ooo, ooo) singing F and D. The chord might actually be Cm and Bb combined. Almost disonant, and unresolved (straight down the middle?). Best songs on TSW IMO: The Sensual World Love and Anger The Fog Never be Mine Straight Down the Middle I really wanted to go a little deeper into this, but work awaits and I must start getting ready. The longest I've strayed from Kate is 3 years. I found her too painful to listen to after the end of a long (17 yr) relationship. "Under the Ivy" would bring me to tears everytime, and sometimes still does. Bye for now Wayne Who loves the "Trio" especially on "Never be Mine" & "Song of Solomon"
