Heard the new song today--wandered into HMV in Dublin where it was on
one of those listening post thingies. Couldn't afford to buy it though.
I'll get eventually, as soon as I heve a few bob to spare. Cheered me
up no end, especially as I start my finals in Zoology next week.

IT'S VERY GOOD INDEED!!!!!!!!! BUY IT!!!!!! (as if anyone here wouldn't).

More of an Irish trad theme than most people here would be used to (not
surprising considering the source of the song). Arranged by Kate, Donal
Lunny and some other person who I can't remember, with vocals recorded by
Del. Primary instruments are Irish harp and fiddle, with some rather
powerful orchestrations later in the song, sort of like MoP. Her voice is
as good as ever, and her pronunciation of the Irish is excellent (_not_ an
easy language to pronounce at all unless you grew up with it at home or
in school), with a western Irish enunciation. Very pretty song, and
powerfully sung (as ever) and definitely a worthy addition to her catalogue.
The inlay card has only the English translation of the song, and not the
Irish original, which is a pity. No pictures either.

Hope it reaches everyone else's end of the planet soon.

Owen
